LOW VOLTAGE AIR CIRCUIT BREAKERS 208V-600V
ALLIS CHALMERS / SIEMENS ALLIS / SIEMENS

In the 1940’s and early ‘50s, ALLIS CHALMERS manufactured its first line of low voltage circuit breakers and associated switchgear. The models produced were the:
  - G25, G25A models with amperage ratings to 600 amp
  - G50, G50A models with amperage ratings to 1600 amp
  - DA75 model with amperage ratings for 2000-3000 amp [6 stud and 12 stud]
  - DA100 model with amperage ratings from 4000 to 6000amp

These breakers were controlled by simple oil dashpot assemblies with internal “sucker discs”.

In the mid 1950’s, ALLIS CHALMERS followed its original designs with a series of breakers called the LA series. This series was available:
           In a single position drawout model only.

These breakers were controlled originally with a multiple dashpot tripping mechanisms with longer time delays than the original sucker discs. In the Larger frame sizes, 5amp inline trip devices were utilized to control the circuit breakers.
  - LA15 with amperage ratings to 225 amp,
  - LA25, LA25A with amperage ratings to 600 amp
  - LA50, LA50A with ratings to 1200 and 1600 amp
  - LA75 with ratings to 3000amp
  - LA100 with ratings to 4000amp

In the 1970’s, ALLIS CHALMERS developed the 2ND in a series of LA designs.  This series was protected with Allis Chalmers’ solid-state trip device design – STATIC TRIP I, STATIC TRIP II and STATIC TRIP III.
  - LA600 / LA800 with amperage ratings to 600 amp / 800 amp respectively,
  - LA1600 with ratings to 1600 amp
  - LA3000 with ratings to 3000amp   
  - LA4000 with ratings to 4000amp

The above LA breakers were also available with integral 3 phase fuses for increased interrupting capacity to 200,000amp. When the breakers were supplied with integral fuses, the designations were as follows:
  - LAF600, LAF800, LAF1600, LAF3000 and LAF4000 having separate drawout fuses

Once the ALLIS CHALMERS was merged into SIEMENS new lines of low voltage circuit breakers were developed. The RL Series.
The designations in each series is as follows:

  - RL800 with amperage ratings to 800 amp,
  - RL1600 with ratings to 1600 amp
  - RL3000 with ratings to 3000amp   
  - RL4000 with ratings to 4000amp

The above RL breakers were also available with integral 3 phase fuses for increased interrupting capacity to 200,000amp. When the breakers were supplied with integral fuses, the designations were as follows:
  - RLF800, RLF1600, RLF3000 and RLF4000 having separate drawout fuses

The Low Voltage Circuit Breakers manufactured by ALLIS CHALMERS have been obsoleted by the successive purchasing companies.
