In the ‘50s, FEDERAL PACIFIC imported its first line of medium voltage circuit breakers and associated switchgear from France. The models produced were the:
   - DST 1 25   model with ratings 5000 volts, 600 and 1200 amp

These circuit breakers were developed utilizing the horizontal drawout design.

In the mid 1950's FEDERAL PACIFIC redesigned the original DST series. The new series was developed around the horizontal drawout format with the breakers having solenoid operators.

The designation of the new series was

   - DST 5 150
   - DST 5 250
   - DST 5 250 NARROW
   - DST 15 500
   - DST 15 750
   - DST 15 1000

In subsequent years FEDERAL PACIFIC redesigned the closing mechanism of the breakers to operate with a hydraulic mechanism and or a stored energy motor charged mechanism.

In its final designs, FEDERAL PACIFIC AND FEDERAL PIONEER of Canada, imported basic breakers from SACE in Italy, added components and brand labeled the breaker assemblies.

The designations of the breakers in the new series were:

   - DST 2 5 250
   - DST 2 5 350
   - DST 2 15 500
   - DST 2 15 750
   - DST 2 15 1000

The Medium Voltage Circuit Breakers manufactured by FEDERAL PACIFIC have been obsoleted..
