LOW VOLTAGE SWITCHGEAR / 208V – 600V / INDOOR AND OUTDOOR
WESTINGHOUSE, EATON CUTLER HAMMER
In the 1940’s and early ‘50s, WESTINGHOUSE manufactured its first line of low voltage circuit breakers and associated switchgear. The models produced were the
- DK25 model with amperage ratings to 600 amp
- DA50 model with amperage ratings to 600, 800-1200, 1600 amp
- DA75 model with amperage ratings for 2000-3000 amp [6 stud and 12 stud]
- DA100 model with amperage ratings from 4000 to 6000amp
The switchgear associated with these models was produced in stationary and single position drawout configurations.
In the mid 1950’s, WESTINGHOUSE followed its original designs with a series of breakers called the DB series. This series was available:
- DB15 with amperage ratings to 225 amp [2 physical sizes]
- DB25 with amperage ratings to 600 amp
- DB50 with ratings to 1600 amp
- DB75 with ratings to 3000amp
- DB100 with ratings to 4000amp
The DB line of breakers was available with integral fusing to increase the interrupting ratings to 200,000 amps. When integral fusing was used, the nomenclature became: DBL25, DBL50
The switchgear associated with these models was produced in stationary and single and three position drawout configurations.
In the 1970’s, Westinghouse developed the DS series.
- DS206 with amperage ratings to 600 amp / 800 amp
- DS416 with ratings to 1600 amp
- DS420 with ratings to 2000 amp
- DS532 with ratings to 3000amp
- DS632 with ratings to 3000amp
- DS840 with ratings to 4000amp
The above DS breakers were also available with integral 3 phase fuses for increased interrupting capacity to 200,000amp. When the breakers were supplied with integral fuses, the designations were as follows:
DSL206, DSL416
The switchgear associated with these models was produced in stationary and three position drawout configurations. . Advanced insulation systems for isolation of the line and load bus configurations were developed for this design of switchgear.
Once the Westinghouse designs were acquired by Cutler Hammer new lines of low voltage circuit breakers were developed. The DSII Series and the Magnum Series.
Many of the design details of the earlier switchgear lines were incorporated in the later CUTLER HAMMER designs.
Most of the Low Voltage Circuit Breakers manufactured by the Westinghouse Company have been obsoleted by the successive purchasing companies and are no longer actively supported by the Westinghouse.
All of the original Complete Circuit Breakers are available directly from the Satin International and Satin American Corp.
Replacement Parts for the majority of all Westinghouse and Eaton Cutler Hammer equipment are in stock and available from Satin International.
Along with Renewal Parts, Satin International maintains an extensive library of original Instruction Books, Sales Catalogs, Blue Print Documentation, and Replacement Parts Information for all Circuit Breakers manufactured WESTINGHOUSE and EATON CUTLER HAMMER.
