MEDIUM VOLTAGE LOAD BREAK / LOAD INTERRUPTOR SWITCHES
MODELS LCB, LBF, WFS, AWP, WLI
WESTINGHOUSE, EATON, & CUTLER HAMMER
WESTINGHOUSE, in the 1950’s developed its first line of interrupter switches designated LCB. WESTINGHOUSE continued to develop and build load interrupter switches into the 2000’s with the LBF, AWP, WFS and WLI designs
While the design of the earlier WESTINGHOUSE load break switches was characterized by a non stored energy closing mechanism, the later designs were characterized by stored energy closing mechanisms with mechanical and/or electrical operators.
The Load interrupter switches were available in voltages ranging from 5000 volts through 15000 volts. Interrupting current availability of the switches ranged from 600 to 1200 amp.
Momentary ratings were available as high as 61,000 amps.
The majority of WESTINGHOUSE switches have been obsoleted by the original manufacturer.
All WESTINGHOUSE load interrupter switches and switch enclosures are available from Satin International and Satin American.
WESTINGHOUSE also developed a line of High Voltage Fuses to be used in conjunction with its load break switches. These fuses were designated
RBA.
All replacement parts for WESTINGHOUSE load break switches and high voltage fuses are available from SATIN INTERNATIONAL and SATIN AMERICAN. These include:
- Main Stationary and Movable Contact Assemblies,
- Arcing Stationary and Movable Contact assemblies,
- Whipper blades,
- Archutes, Pushrods,
- Electrical operators, Manual Operators,
- High Voltage Fuses, Fuse Holders
- Key Interlock assemblies |
